Falling in Love with Shoes

Well with Fall here I can honestly say I am falling in love with shoes.  I just talked about my new boots from madewell, the otis boot on the blog the other day, but these new smoking loafers from Nordstrom have also found their way into my closet.

These Franco Sarto "Freeze" Smoking Loafers in Taupe are great for fall.  And they are the softest shoes!  You can pair them with just about anything and they come in a variety of colors. 

I don't know where time is going!  It is time for pumpkins, leaves on the ground, and my least favorite, it getting dark earlier.

But I am ready for all the fun fall stuff.  I hope you are too!

Welcome To My Closet Otis

Welcome to my closet Madewell Otis boots!  These boots are the best ankle boot around.  My first fall purchase and of course it was from one of my favorite spots, Madewell.

Can we talk about how great of a color these are?  They come in soft mahogany, what I decided to get, and true black.  I honestly believe you can't go wrong with either one!

I hate to say it but fall seems to be right around the corner.

Halloween Love/Hate

EVENTS

Halloween is this week!  So exciting!!  I can't wait to hand out candy to the little ones, it is so fun to see what they dress up like.  But to be honest with you, I hate Halloween, well hate is a strong word, but I really don't like parts of Halloween.

I hate having to come up with something to be for Halloween.  I feel like it is stressful having to dress up and go out to a party because I never know what to be and yes, I will wait till the last minute, making it even harder to come up with something.  Plus, I never really see anything ideas or anything I would like to dress up as.  I don't want to be a slutty whatever.  Come on, I would so much rather look cute then slutty.  Maybe that's just me.

But there are plenty of things I like about Halloween.

1.  I love scary movies and during this time they are on all day and night.  And the 13 nights of Halloween are the perfect chance to catch my favorite, Hocus Pocus.  

2.  I love to give out candy to the treat or treaters.  

And

3. I love Halloween decorations.  Love them!  They are so fun to look at and enjoy.

These pumpkins are my one of favorite items to put out for the holiday.

And this witch hat is a new favorite.

So with the bad of Halloween, I make up for it with decorations.  I will enjoy them for the next couple days until we change over for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

 

To Do List: Fall Edition

HER/PLACES

So fall has arrived with colder weather and a lot of rain.  I have to say that I am truly a summer person, but I love scarves.  I am a little excited for colder weather, but I wish it was only for a couple weeks and then we would be back to summer.  

There are a couple things I am looking forward to this fall so here are 

5 things I would like to do.

1. I guess I need to try one of those pumpkin spice lattes people are talking about.  I have never had one and would love to try it.

2. I would like to go and visit some friends in New York.  I am planning my trip and can't wait to go shopping.  I am already planning my shopping stops.

3.  Go and pick out pumpkins and maybe a corn maze.  I love picking pumpkins and thinking about what/how I am going to carve or decorate them.  This is what I did the other year.

I figured I would show some love for VV.
Oh and I would also like to get some mums.

 

4.  I can't wait to hand out candy to the trick or treaters!  I just love seeing the little ones in their costumes- they are so cute.  I usually go over to my parents because they get a lot of trick or treaters.  I will keep you posted on the cute costumes.

5.  I would like to make something new in my crock pot.  This is a great fall/winter easy dinner maker.  The ideas are endless.  If you don't have one, get one.  All you do is throw things in and after a while it's ready.

I hope to cross all of these off my list this fall.  I will keep you all posted on how it goes.

Leopard Love

Fall is the time for animal print.  These prints can be seen in a variety of items from pants and tops to great accessories.  Now I am an accessory girl.  I love adding a simple touch of something to an outfit because I feel jewelry and a good bag can put an outfit together, it completes the look.  So with that being said, I love leopard accessories, mostly shoes and belts.

Shoes:  Leopard’s classic color pallet of brown, black, and tan with a pair of black pants is such a great look.  Pair that with a nice solid top and some pearls, you will look so smart on your day out and about.  Even with an off white pant it can be a smart look.  I know, I know, I said I don’t wear white after Labor Day (Check out After Labor Day), but these are off white…I swear.  My mom said it was OK.  

These shoes are great.  I just love the look of them, I think I could use some more.

Belts:  Belts can do more than hold up your pants- believe it!  Leopard can tie together black pants with a colored top.  

This belt adds a nice touch with the leopard pattern which is surrounded by the two solid colors of black and pink.
Prints with solids, solids with prints, you be the judge.  Belts are the perfect accessories for those people that say they can’t pick out jewelry or bags to match their outfits.  You can add a belt to any pair of pants.  Colors and patterns are in, so just play around with the belts, you really can’t go wrong.

For the Love of Photoshop

Photoshop is a great way to get your creative juices flowing.  There are so many options and different things to do using Photoshop the ideas are endless.  I personally have just become addicted to using Photoshop to create cute word art.  I made the banner for my blog using Photoshop.

Like I said I am a beginner, but it was easy to use once I played around on it for a little.  It is the type of thing that the more you play and create, the better you will become.  I am still finding new ways to change items or select them.  I find new short cuts every time.  It really is fun! 

This is something new I made and I plan on using it on the blog somewhere.

Playing with fonts is one of my favorite things to do while I am using Photoshop.

It is a little early, but I will show you the latest I made for Halloween.

Now I really don't know what all you can do on Photoshop but I would like to learn and I am open to new and interesting ideas.  If you know any fun things to do or have any advance for a beginner I am listening.
