Welcome Home Pineapple

Pineapples are all around these days, and to be honest I love it! I recently joined the website Joss and Main, best and worst thing for me.
Best because they have such great stuff, worst because I feel like I need everything on the site I like.
Well, the other day I came across something that I had to have.  I mean HAD to have.

This pineapple had to be in my home.  I really didn't think I could pass it up and it was such a great price.  I couldn't say no.  And plus, white goes with everything.  So with that thought in mind this little gem ended up in my cart online and then my home.  I love it! I think it will look so cute by the front door.

Here are some other Pineapple items that I am loving.

Pillows of Summer

HOME

Pottery Barn Starfish Pillow- Old
Flip Flop Pillow
(I just looked at this website (Seaside Inspired) so many cute things!)

Decorative pillows are great for any room.  I have loved these great sayings to brighten up my beach living room.

Pottery Barn has some of the best things for the home.  I am addicted to their catalog and website.  Right now, I don't "need" furniture or any of their great items, but I couldn't pass up on these stripe pillows.  Some of the colors are on sale!
All of these pillows paired so well with my green couch.

Tomorrow is Friday!  I hope you all have something to look forward to.  I am trying to get in a trip to the mall with my mom and hopefully some pool time.

Update Curb Appeal: Front Door

HOME

Well the weather is finally playing fair and it makes me want to spend more time outside.  I want to enjoy my outdoor living space and work on my curb appeal.  What better way to update then painting your front door.  A fresh coat of paint and some new hardware can really make a difference.

So what colors are the top front door colors?

Here are some of my favorite options.

These colors give you the options you would need depending on your house color.

Blue would look great with a grey house.  It would bring a bright statement to draw in the people passing by.

Greenish Yellow is such a neat color for a front door.  Even on a tan house to add a little contrast it would look interesting.

Brown/tan is a color that pairs well with a brick or stone home.  This color is more of a classic such as black.  You can do a lot with it.

Orange is a fun color to try.  I think it would go will with any house color.  It adds a nice pop of color to your home and enhances your curb appeal.

Green is one of my favorite.  Again I think it would work well with grey, tan, brick, or stone.  It is such a fun color.

I love all of these colors for a front door.  I think a nice colored front door can really add something to your home.  It is so much fun to look around town and see what people have picked for their home.

Do you have a fun or different color front door?
Something different from the classic white or black?

Friday Finds: Jill Kerry Designs

Happy Friday Finds!  This time I found Jill Kerry Designs.  She makes adorable trays for the home.  I stumbled across them when searching for trays on Etsy and fell in love with the colors and great patterns.

These fun patterned trays can be used a couple different ways.  As seen in the shops pictures they are great for coffee tables, kitchen counters or on top of a dresser; for decoration, for a catch all, or jewelry.  You can add some color to any room in the house.

Wedding Crafting

HOME

This June will be our first anniversary!  June 22nd will be our happy day to have the top layer of cake and think about how much fun we had on that day last year.  The other day I was looking at our cake topper and thought it is too cute to just have sitting around.  So of course I made a craft project out of it.

Our cake was a simple yet elegant white, dot cake.  I LOVED it!  And not only did it look great, but tasted delicious.

As you can see, our cake topper was our monogram.  I needed to do something with it, how could I not?

Luckily, the hubs was able to cut off the point for me to do something with it.

I headed over to the craft store and walked around to see if anything caught my eye.  I found some burlap and though that the black monogram would look great.  And I found a great looking frame.

I think it turned out pretty well.  Now just to find a place to put it!

Have you done a new craft lately?
Have you repurposed something?

Flowers For The Home

HOME

My new decoration for the home is perfect for this time of year.  Do you need some flowers for your house?

I first started out with this Mint Julep Cup from Crate&Barrel. (It is on sale now too!)  I wanted to use it has a decorative piece in my house and when I came across these adorable flower balls, I knew they would be perfect.

I couldn't pass up the hydrangea one.  I am happy with my new spring additions to the home.

Have you added anything new to your house for spring?

Friday Finds: McKenzie Wild

I have decided to do a special post on Fridays about some of the wonderful Esty finds that I come across.  If you haven't been on Etsy, let me tell you it is a MUST!
I can honestly say that I have brought some great items from different sellers on Etsy.  I have found other items that I have my eye on.  There are so many great things.

My first Friday Finds will be:

This wonderful Etsy site belongs to the none other than Whitney at McKenzie Wild.
She makes and sells Lilly Pulitzer themed wine glasses.

How cute are these?
These glasses are great for parties or just for an evening in.  With the summer coming, I can't think of a better glass.  Lilly Pulitzer and wine? Sounds like a great combination to me!

So if you are looking for a great gift for someone or your self head over to Etsy and check out these great wine glasses.

Do you love Lilly and wine?
Are there other great Etsy shops I should check out?

Decorate While Organizing: Hair Brush

HOME

It is no secret that I love to decorate and organize and when I can do both together, it is perfect.  If you are anything like me, you also have multiple hair brushes and they need a home.
I used to have them all in my top drawer in my room, but I wanted to do something different.  I could use the drawer space, which is for sure!
So when I found this wonderful glass container I figured I would see what I could come up with.

Love it!  I am so happy I was able to put it to use.  I think it turned out nicely and it now sits on top of my dresser.

What do you think?
Do you have any good organizing ideas?

Little Project for the Home

HOME

I have decided to entertain myself with a little project for the home the other night.  I wanted something easy and once I found a little jar at Michaels I knew what I was going to do.  I just needed a couple little things and once I had them I was well on my way.
I found the jar and instantly thought about using it on my coffee table to hold matches for my candles.

I started with just the matches in the jar, but I thought about how am I going to light them when needed.

So there needed to be a change, so I added a cute little tag where I attached the strike side of the matchbox.

I think it turned out pretty cute and would make a great house-warming gift.

Have you done any little projects lately?

In my Travels

HOME

In my travels this weekend I found some great items at HomeGoods.  I often will get in too much trouble when walking through HomeGoods. (A good friend of mine and I will go together and I feel like we pick up everything)
I love things for the home, decorating is one of my favorite things to do.  I feel like I need a new home or need a change around my house.  As you can see sometimes this is a problem.  I sometimes find great items I either don't need or don't have room for.
I found so many great things in my travels.  I don't even know where to begin.

Well a first find when I entered into the store was this cute envelope mailbox.  I just loved it, but sadly it did not make it home with me.  (I was shopping with the hubs= fast trip, in and out)  I may have to run back for it.

This makes me want to rearrange and make room for this.  Why did I leave the store without this?  I just love the Anthropology like hardware.  Perfect for any room.

Oh these chairs are perfect!  The fabric and print is like an Oxford blue and white striped polo shirt.  Classic and simple.  Again I have no need for these.  Wish I could find a home for them.

Such a cute lamp!  I just think this would look so cute in a kitchen or den/office.

I found some blue and white!

Needless to say this little gem made its way home with me that night.  I just love it.

That is part of the fun of HomeGoods.  You never know what you are going to find.  New things come in during the week all the time.

Do you like to decorate or changing things around your home?

This Year: Organizing

HOME

What I want to get out of this new year: Organizing!  With this New Year there is a new slate.  I am going to start the year off right with getting things done around the house.  I posted about my cleaning schedule the other day.  But my organizing doesn't stop there.
I plan on working on the following:

Closet:
I would like to go through my closet and get rid of some things I am no longer wearing.  Time to give things away!

Shoes/Bags:
Organize my shoeboxes.  For my bags?  I found these great boxes from Ikea, they are a great way to keep your bags from getting dusty.  In the bottom of the closet above is where I have some my shoeboxes and on top are boxes that are full of my bags. It is perfect!

Files:
I hate loose papers around the house.  I need to file away the rest of my papers from last year and get together for this year.  I just opened my new pack of folders from Target.

Jewelry:
I like to put all my jewelry in clear bags, that way I can see everything.

Now doing these things makes me feel great once completed.  I love checking things off my list.  Time to get to work!

How do you organize your home?

Be Organized: Cleaning Schedule

HOME

Hello 2014, time to get organized.  Well more organized I should say.
I feel like sometimes my life gets so busy between work, family, friends, and home.  By home I mean all those fun things that need to get done at the house.  The cleaning!  Now I like to be organized.  Have you seen my posts about organizing?  Here is one about magazine holders in the kitchen. And another favorite of mine you can find here.
I am pretty good at making time for the fun things in life like trips to the mall and being social which makes the home part of life harder.  I love to have a clean house with little to no clutter.  So you can image that I needed to make a schedule for cleaning.  I love to make lists so this was right up my alley.
When I set out to make my schedule I made sure just to have a little something to do each day of the week that way it wouldn't take too much time and so that I would actually have the time to do the item on the list.  No procrastinating.
So here it is!

As you can see laundry is not mentioned any day because honestly that is something I can do any day of the week.  I don't mind doing laundry because I like having clean clothes.  (duh) Make sense, right?  And when making this schedule, I wanted to make sure that my weekends were free.  That way I could make time for the important things in life.  Like running errands with family or hanging out with friends.  I wanted to make time for some fun or to just relax.

Do you have any tricks to get things done around your place?  What is your cleaning schedule like?

Ribbon Tree Decoration

HOME

Are you looking for a wonderful Christmas craft for your home during these colder nights?  I have found an easy, cute, fun craft that doesn't need many supplies.  This ribbon tree is great for the holidays and looks cute.

What you will need:
Styrofoam Cone
Pins
Ribbons
Scissors

First figure out the length of the ribbon you would like to use for the tree.  I made these on the smaller size.  It would be fun to make a set of three trees with all different lengths.

After you cut your ribbons to the desired length you can start to apply to the cone.

Wrap the ribbon to make a loop and stick the pin through the top and place on the cone.  For the first row, make sure the ribbons match up with the bottom of the cone.
After the first row continue up overlapping the ribbon not to see the pins.

Once completed you will have a ribbon tree!

I added a star to the top of this one and used glue for the top row so there would be no pins showing.  I had so much fun putting this together.  I may make more with the different ribbon lengths.
Enjoy! Have fun crafting.

Christmas Shopping

HOME

With Christmas right around the corner I feel the pressure of getting ready for the holidays.  I have already started my Christmas list (more to come on that) and I have already started my Christmas shopping.  So far I have something for my mom, mother-in-law, and a good friend of mine.  I think that is a pretty good start.
All the Christmas items in every store have distracted me.  Target is the worst for me.  I mean Target is hard enough for me to walk through without buying something I don't really need, but now with the Christmas stuff, forget it.  Just the other day I was buying wrapping paper, tags, lights, and a fox with a hat and a scarf!  What is going on?  I have to get through Thanksgiving first!
But how cute are these things?

Can't wait to put this little fox out for the holidays!

These Can-O-Tags are great during this busy time of year.  I get them every year because they are so practical.

Saved the best for last.  I am in love with these lantern lights.  They are so cute!

I had to have these and I can't wait to put them up.  I guess you could say I am in the holiday mood.

All of these items where picked up at Target.  Holiday decorations are so fun to look at and in my case purchase.

Do you have some favorite holiday items?  Are you excited for the holidays?
